On July 5, the presentation was held of the exhibition of a photo-journalist Victoria Ivleva (Russia) – "Apotheosis of War” – in David Kakabadze Gallery of Visual Arts of Kutaisi.

The project is supported by the Rosa Luxemburg Foundation and the two partner organizations: Cultural-Humanitarian Fund "Sukhumi” (Georgia) and Union "Women of the Don Region” (Russia).

The exhibition reflects forty-two photos from Tajikistan, Afghanistan, Uganda, Angola and Ruanda.

Victoria Ivleva, the author of the exhibition, arrived from Moscow for the day of presentation. There were also invited the members of the Alliance of Georgian-Russian Women Peacemakers – Marina Tabukashvili - general director of Women’s Fund "Taso”, Galina Petriashvili - president of the Association of Journalists "GenderMediaKavkaz", Manana Mebuke - a chairperson of "Union of wives of invalids and lost warriors”, a chairperson of Fund of Women-Entrepreneurs Meri Gelashvili, a chairperson of teacher's union "Education and Universe" Nanuli Ramishvili, a chairperson of Fund "Sukhumi" Alla Gamakharia, as well as the representatives of NGOs, mass-media and Kutaisi City Council.

From the book of impressions of Fund "Sukhumi”:

"The back-and-white photos, presented in the exhibition with high professionalism and deep humanism, redoubles war terrors”

"This is terrible truth. These photos reflect accusation, sympathy and protest. They once again convince us that war brings only destruction and trouble for people.”

"The similar should not happen anywhere! Many thanks to the author, many thanks to the organizers”

The exhibition lasts until July 9th.
